“Turn your manuscript into a book …”
If you want a ready-to-upload manuscript file formatted, laid out, and set for publishing, let us know.
We’ll produce ready-to-use Word and Adobe PDF files formatted to size and style. Think font choice and size, margins, guttering (spacing from edges), headers/footers, pagination, and so on.
Formatting for hardback or paperback book guide price: $99 for a novel with very few or no images. We’ll talk if your book has multiple images and elements like lists, tables, and graphs.
E-books are strange creatures! They have to be flexible so that their text can be “reflowable” and manipulated according to user preferences (device, app, screen size, font size and style, and so on). This means the text and pages have to be coded in very specific ways to ensure navigation and attractive presentation.
We’ll format your e-book for distribution on Amazon Kindle (.azw) and other distributors, such as Apple, Kobo, and Smashwords (.epub). We’ll supply you with ready-to-use Word and Adobe PDF files formatted to size and style, as well as .mobi and/or .epub files.

“A picture paints a thousand words …”
It’s the old cliché, but it’s true. Covers sell books! After the title, your cover is the first impression you create. You need a cover image that creates interest, intrigue, and impulse. The urge in the reader to “look inside,” request a sample, or find out more details and check out reviews.
Covers are crucial in hooking potential readers and guiding them in the genre and the kind of story being told. And remember: the cover fronts not only the book—physical and digital—but crucially it’s the key image on your book’s online bookstore page.
We can design and produce an impactful cover for your book:

“Catch the zeitgeist. Get ahead of other authors in your field.”
We don’t offer a standard publishing contract, putting you on a rota of publishing 12–24 months down the line. Rather, Papillon du Père will publish you when you choose.
We will offer you a simple monthly, rolling contract that fully protects your intellectual property rights and sets out, in agreement with you, what Papillon du Père will do for you and the split of net royalties. Email me to see a sample contract.
“All by myself. Don’t wanna be, all by myself—anymore!”

I’m Jay Lewis Allchin, owner of Papillon du Père. For 25 years, I have been a developmental and copy editor, helping many writers develop their craft and get published and/or self-published. Writers like the award-winning Vince Czyz, Bradley Harper, and Nada Faris, as well as Chandra Clarke, Carla Rehse, T.A. Pilkington, Shea Adams, Jenna Glatzer (well-known ghostwriter), Mark Munger, Nathan Field, and author/illustrator Dunkle Deed (yes, he exists), among many others.
I launched the Editing-Store.com in 2010 to work more meaningfully with writers on their writing journey. I created Papillon du Père Publishing as an extension to enable independent authors to publish and promote their work. My team of expert associates and I do the legwork so that writers can spend their time doing what they do best—write.
Ask me for any testimonials regarding how my team and I might be able to help you on your writing and publishing journey: let my clients and associates tell you! I’ll temporarily add you to my Facebook writers’ group, Authorial Points of View, where a number of my author clients, author's I've published, and colleagues chat and support each other.
Thanks for stopping by. Drop me a line, for a chat or whatever, using the links directly below. Ciao for now!
